Short bio (50 words): Michael Moore is a dialysis patient, author, and patient advocate diagnosed with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease at age 44. On the Florida kidney transplant waitlist, he founded MAVTG — the first medical travel company built by a patient, for patients — and has written four books on living with advanced kidney disease and building a life of purpose.

Long bio (150 words): In 2019, Michael Moore's kidneys failed and he was admitted to the ICU with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease at age 44 — after years during which every clinical indicator of progressive renal failure went unrecognized. An IT security professional, competitive car builder whose vehicles were featured in national racing publications, and father, Moore had built his identity around performance and output — not on monitoring the numbers that would determine whether he lived long enough to collect what he had built.

Six years and thousands of hours in dialysis chairs later, he translated that experience into four published works under Moore Legacy Press and founded MAVTG to address a gap no existing company was solving: how do dialysis patients travel the world without compromising their care?

Based in Tampa, Florida, Moore is on the state's kidney transplant waitlist and continues to build, write, advocate, and travel — three times per week on a dialysis machine, without reservation.
