About Naeem

The man behind
The Brotherhood.

Life coach, speaker, and founder — but before any of that, a kid from Berkeley learning what it means to become a man.

Naeem Hopkins

His story

From the court to The Brotherhood.

Naeem Hopkins is a life coach, speaker, and the founder of The Brotherhood — a men’s group in Oakland, California. He believes that when a man grows in character, faith, and leadership, everything around him rises: his family, his relationships, his community.

His path started on the court himself, as a basketball player at Berkeley High School, before running through years of pouring into young people — including his work with Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) — and his own journey wrestling with what it means to become a man of purpose and faith. He went on to study at San Francisco State University, carrying that same drive to understand people and help them grow into a career built around it.

Today, Naeem brings that same heart to the men he coaches and the brotherhood he leads: meeting men where they are, and walking with them toward who they’re called to be — through 1-on-1 coaching, live speaking, and a weekly circle of men committed to growing together.

What he believes

The convictions behind the work.

  • Character is built before it’s needed — not in the moment of crisis.
  • Faith is the foundation of the work, not an accessory to it.
  • Men grow faster in brotherhood than they do alone.
  • Leadership starts with leading yourself — at home, first.
